I have now been able to compare the new timetable with the old one.
Timings are now from Bishopthorpe - Acaster Lane, and not from Keble Park.
It appears that the following timings from Bishopthorpe have been dropped:
Monday - Friday - 0629 and 1838
Saturday - 0638 and 1838
The following timings from Ashley Park have also been cancelled:
Monday - Friday - 0657, 0727 and 1857
Saturday - 0727 and 1857
It seems to me regrettable that services on which people rely for their journey to work have been cancelled, and deplorable that so little advance information has been distributed.
This (Monday) morning, the second day of the new timetable, no copies were available at York Tourist Information, the only distribution point for timetables in the city centre. It may be that the news has been passed to Traveline Hull, the office to which York residents' telephone enquiries are switched. My experience has been that the staff there are very helpful, but that organisations in York and Leeds are very slow to provide them with info about changes in our area.
If the City Council is serious in its policy of encouraging public transport use, it should look again at the result of its decisions to close information points in George Hudson St. and York Station and to shut down its own telephone info. service.
