On a cold and crisp morning last Sunday, this was the scene at 8.00am outside the Ebor Inn as people queued for tickets for The Three Musketeers - le Pantomime!! It was rumoured that some people had not been home from the firework event the previous night. First in the queue at 7.30 was Cath Bruce wrapped up against the elements. She was closely followed by Liam Godfrey, well known to Bishopthorpe residents (and the police too by all accounts!) Both were proud to show their ticket numbers 1 & 2 to anybody who was interested and even those that weren't couldn't escape!
By the time the doors opened at 9.00 a fair size crowd had gathered and were glad to get inside for warmth and hot coffee and biscuits. Even though there were still a further two hours to wait until tickets went on sale, the atmosphere was good humoured and the conversation and coffee flowed. Then on the stroke of 11.00 Cath Bruce was called forward to purchase her tickets. Two hours later over 500 tickets had been sold. Once again the Saturday night proved very, very popular as did the Saturday matinee.
The panto runs from Monday 5th to Saturday 10th December at 7.30 with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30 but fear not if you did not manage to get to the Ebor or the lure of a warm bed proved irresistible, there are still tickets left, even a few for the Saturday matinee. They can be purchased from the Ebor Inn and are priced at £7.50 for adults and £5.00 for children but don't delay, book today!!
