Sc*m B*gs!

Our children hope to enjoy the new facilities in the village. What an outrage this is. Whoever is brought to justice should be named and shamed. I for one am sick of all the vandalism spoiling our beautiful village.

I couldn't agree more Clare, not just in the park but throughout the village as well, and if not the youths in question then perhaps the parents should be brought to task.

We all know who did this. He is a local youth who's Parents have never exercised any control over him and should be ashamed of themselves!! He also was likely to be responsible for the break in and vandalism at the Junior School. Until such parents take responsibility for their childrens behaviour...nothing will change in Bishopthorpe!

Surely some parents somewhere should notice that their brat has purple paint on him or cher or his clothes.
Not only should the offenders have to clean up their vandalism they should be made resonsible (under supervision) to keep the playground clean and tidy for 12 months

I have recently moved to the village and the house I am renting backs on to the children's play field. I have watched the polite and hardworking men toiling through all weathers as they obviously take great pride in the project. How disappointing to hear from one of the extremely disappointed workers this week about the ridiculous act of vandalism. If what I understand is correct, and the person concerned is a local youth, then surely the most therapeutic punishment would be for him to have to clean up the result of his prank. I doubt he would ever commit such a sensless act again and it would give him some understanding of the consequences of his thoughtless actions.

I couldn't agree more Phil.
