Play Area - Further Progress

Work carries on apace at the play area as the apparatus is now taking shape and becoming recognisable.

A lot of the spoil will be used for the mound, which will include tunnels through and later, once settlement and consolidation has taken place, a slide down.

Ebor Players.jpgI have bought tickets this evening for 'Franky Panky'....the annual Ebor Players Panto in Bishopthorpe.

Rather than write my own review as an adult I am going to ask my 8 year old son to do this on my behalf.

Oh yes I am.......

Last week, work started on the new play area adjacent to Keble Park North & Lamplugh Crescent.

The contract has been awarded to Playdale, with anticipated completion prior to Christmas.

The area will include a trim trail, zip wire, climbing frame, toddler area, a large mound with tunnels through and swings & slides, amongst other apparatus.

Further progress will be reported in due course.

Christmas Lights....

Apparently Copmanthorpe Parish Council have organised Christmas lights this year for the village. Would it not be fantastic to have lights in Bishopthorpe next Christmas?? Main Street would look fantastic.......

If you are passing Copmanthorpe please have a look at their lights and let us know what you think. We could gather information from their Parish Council...

What do you think about my idea? ....could we not work towards our own Christmas lights in Bishopthorpe for 2010?? I would be happy to help with this...perhaps we could set up a fund in Jan 2010??

Pots in the Village Hall

At the Village Hall on Saturday, 7 November, there will be an opportunity to buy originally designed and handcrafted ceramics by local potters.  There will be 11 exhibitors from the York area selling a variety of ceramics from mugs and bowls to wall hangings, ornamental pieces and Christmas decorations.  Great ideas for the forthcoming festive season!  Home baked refreshments will also be available.  From 9.30am to  5.00pm.

'Franky Panky'

Tickets for this year's Panto 'Franky Panky' go on sale on Sunday 15th November at 11am at the Ebor Inn. If recent years are anything to go by tickets sell fast, particularly for the weekend performances which usually sell out on the day. So don't be disappointed.

Also coming up, watch out for profiles on our cast. You would be surprised what a talented lot some of them are.
