On Sunday morning, a healthy crowd packed the Ebor as tickets for this years' production of 'Franky Panky' went on sale. Within 2 hours Wednesday, Friday & Saturday nights were sold out and within 24 hours Thursday night joined them. At the time of writing over 630 tickets had been sold with only a few still left for Tuesday night and Saturday matinee, available at the Ebor.
Last week, work started on the new play area adjacent to Keble Park North & Lamplugh Crescent.
The contract has been awarded to Playdale, with anticipated completion prior to Christmas.
The area will include a trim trail, zip wire, climbing frame, toddler area, a large mound with tunnels through and swings & slides, amongst other apparatus.
Further progress will be reported in due course.
Apparently Copmanthorpe Parish Council have organised Christmas lights this year for the village. Would it not be fantastic to have lights in Bishopthorpe next Christmas?? Main Street would look fantastic.......
If you are passing Copmanthorpe please have a look at their lights and let us know what you think. We could gather information from their Parish Council...
What do you think about my idea? ....could we not work towards our own Christmas lights in Bishopthorpe for 2010?? I would be happy to help with this...perhaps we could set up a fund in Jan 2010??
Tickets for this year's Panto 'Franky Panky' go on sale on Sunday 15th November at 11am at the Ebor Inn. If recent years are anything to go by tickets sell fast, particularly for the weekend performances which usually sell out on the day. So don't be disappointed.
Also coming up, watch out for profiles on our cast. You would be surprised what a talented lot some of them are.
