These pages are for anyone who's interested in the wide variety of nature that can be seen in and around Bishopthorpe and the surrounding villages.

We are fortunate to live in an area that includes many different types of habitat, and without going too far from home you can see all manner of creatures - plants, animals, birds, insects, fish - that also make their home here or stop by on longer journeys.

Many of these are the familiar few that that everyone recognises, but if you know what to look for there are also some surprises to be seen.
