You can have a free email address hosted by the bishopthorpe dot net web site, in the style of

firstname.lastname@bishopthorpe.net

You can access your mail from any web browser in the same way as using Hotmail or Yahoo or similar services, but the advantage of bishopthorpe.net webmail is that there's no unwanted advertising on your email screen. Also there's a good chance that you'll get your first choice of name, rather than having to compete for it with the rest of the world!
