Have you ever wondered how your favourite Auntie Ethel or Uncle Frank might deal with the difficult decision as to what to do with their pet pooch or beloved moggie if they were suddenly ill, or faced some emergency which put them in hospital, or they had to go to other family members on a mission of mercy.
In order to address and assist with the concerns of such people, Keep Your Pet was created with an aim of helping elderly and vulnerable people when they need assistance to look after their pet in an emergency.
“Keep Your Pet” is a scheme that results from a collaboration between Age UK York, Age UK Selby and the RSPCA York Harrogate and District.

KYP aims to provide a short term solution for pet owners who are older or vulnerable and live in the York and Selby area. It offers services to enable the pet owner to cope with a health or other emergency. The services include fostering, sitting, walking or feeding any kind of domestic pet.
