Go by bike!

Yesterday the City Council installed two bike racks at the pull-in in front of the shops in Acaster Lane.

The installation is part of the ongoing Parish Council programme, see (and add your own) Comments below.

The Parish Council have organised the installation of these cycle racks after consultation with the local shop owners and City of York Council.

We have also fixed a chain to the front wall of the Village Hall to enable cycles to be left securely fastened whilst their owners are visiting the village hall.

We are also looking to provide similar facilities outside the shops on Sim Balk Lane as part of an overall strategy to encourage people to cycle around the village in the knowledge that they can leave their cycles secure when visiting shops etc.

A great initiative for Bishopthorpe. Lets encourage people to use them!
