New Front Page

For some time we have been using a Front page for the site that has required constant manual editing.

Today we launch a new front page system that is using the latest release of software used elsewhere on the site.
This should make it easier to keep up to date, and apply a consistent look and feel to the pages.

No doubt we will need to tinker with it to get it all working OK. Please use the Comments facility if you find any problems.

Well done on the new front page and the new-look site Martin. Just one small gripe - the illustrative welcome strip on the front page just hangs there - it looks as if it doesn't belong - time for something new? Nonetheless, thanks for all your hard work.

I agree - it looks so much cleaner.

It's impossible to get back to the Bish.net front page from withing the site - I got trapped in our Ward Councillors pages! Surely this is very bad practice??
Can I presume that the current loss of layout is just a temporary glitch?

There is a link to the Front page and the bottom of the Ward and History pages, and elsewhere on other sections that have not yet been upgraded to the new designs. As you obviously can't find it maybe we can put an additional link at the top of these pages as well.
